«We have been doing ‘fan-friendly’ on England away trips since 2003 and many of the fans are reporting that Ibi was one of the best in recent years. (…)Thanks again.
On a day of such horrific carnage in Paris including the Stade de France in our small way we represented the power of football to bring peoples together to celebrate a common humanity». 13-11-2015

In English now
Friday the 13th of November was a special day as we had the pleasure of welcoming the FA (England Supporters from the Football Association) in IES La Foia.
The experience was so enriching. Our guests visited the facilities, especially the machining and plastic-moulding workshops, and they were quite surprised to see the working means our High School has.
Next, some linguistic activities that had been prepared by our students from Practical English in 2nd of Bachillerato took place. Students from 1st Plastics in Lower Cycle and the teachers Emma and Pilar participated as well.
The English visitors were welcomed by the Education and Sport Councillor Antonio Rico and the Tourism Councillor Rubén Barea in our High School hall. The association offered as a gift a commemorative plaque to IES La Foia and the Town Hall gave back some tourist information packs.
We would like to thank the Ibi Town Hall for its collaboration, without which the activity would not have been possible.
Some of our guests had the chance to visit Ibi and the Toy Museum together with a teacher from the English Department and a former student from IES La Foia.
In the afternoon, a friendly football match with 14 English supporters and a selection of students from our High School was played at Vilaplana Mariel football stadium in Ibi.
Our students had the chance to practice English in a real situation. We would like to thank them for the excellent behaviour they showed in all the activities.
I would like to thank the help and support of the colleagues who made it possible. Following are some of FA’s kind and thankful words:
“We have been doing ‘fan-friendly’ on England away trips since 2003 and many of the fans are reporting that Ibi was one of the best in recent years. (…)Thanks again.
On a day of such horrific carnage in Paris including the Stade de France in our small way we represented the power of football to bring peoples together to celebrate a common humanity”. 13-11-2015
